«There's always been a wide, quirky, wonderful range of conversations on Twitter, but we haven't done enough to help connect people who are interested in the same things. Now, that's all changing. Starting today, we're testing Communities , a way to easily find and connect with people who want to talk about the same things you do. This is how Twitter has presented its new feature: Communities, a way to create interest groups among followers of an account.
How Twitter's new communities work
This new feature, still in testing, allows users to tweet directly to that group instead of to all their followers. In addition, only members of the same community will be able to respond and join the conversation. "Some el salvador business email database conversations are not for everyone, only for people who want to talk about what you want to talk about ," explains the social network.
In any case, although users will be able to tweet only to their community to maintain a conversation focused on a topic or interest, community pages and timelines will be publicly available for anyone to read, quote and report tweets . "We want to continue supporting the public conversation and help people find Communities that match their interests, while creating a more intimate space for conversation ," Twitter says.
Members can access communities via the dedicated tab at the bottom of the iOS app, or in the sidebar on Twitter.com. For now, on Android, you can only follow the conversation, but not participate in it. Here's one of the first communities created to talk about meteorology.
