The year 2016 saw the emergence of a new trend: chatbots. Although telegram data the chatbot has existed since 1994, its development has matured in recent years. For many, this technical innovation is linked to artificial intelligence (AI) but it is quite different. Indeed, chatbots only have weak artificial intelligence. It does not use artificial intelligence as described in science fiction literature or cinema.
Indeed, there are two types of AI. Weak artificial intelligence and strong artificial intelligence. The first uses artificial intelligence techniques but is not capable of having advanced cognitive connections like that of Man. The second is the vision that a machine would be capable of having the same cognitive capacities as Man. That is to say, it is not capable of having emotions, of judging the pros and cons…
Weak AI often consists of scripts defined in advance by publishers and developers of technical solutions. Artificial intelligence is now at its development stage and its semantic shift gives an altered vision of what it really is. We find a lot of weak intelligence in our daily lives but as far as strong AI is concerned, only the big web stables (Microsoft, Facebook, Apple, etc.) are working on the subject.
So, we can ask ourselves how chatbots actually work and what the implications of AI will be in the future.
