No More “Carrier Hold Music” for Me

Post by mouakter13 »

For as long as I can remember, my phone number was tied to an endless cycle of hold music, automated calls, and frustrating customer service waits. It felt like every time I needed help, I was stuck listening to the same repetitive tunes while waiting for a representative who often didn’t solve my problem. This constant annoyance was just one of the many reasons I decided to cancel my phone number and break free from the traditional carrier system. What I didn’t expect was how much peace and freedom I would gain once I cut the cord.

After cancelling my number, I transitioned to using internet-based special database communication tools like messaging apps, email, and video calls. These platforms allowed me to bypass the frustrating wait times and impersonal automated systems. I no longer had to endure “carrier hold music” or get stuck in phone trees. Instead, I could schedule calls or chats on my own terms, focusing on more meaningful and efficient interactions. This shift not only saved me time but also reduced the stress and irritation that had become part of my phone experience.

Breaking free from my phone number and traditional carrier also improved my overall relationship with technology. Without the constant interruptions and hold music, I regained control over my communication and my schedule. I found myself more productive, less anxious, and more present in daily life. While cancelling a phone number might seem drastic to some, for me it was a liberating step toward a simpler, more focused lifestyle—one where I no longer have to suffer through endless hold music or wait on the line for help.
