The end of party coalitions

Post by monira444 »

If you want to know more about this professional, check out our post: Do you know the functions of councilors?

There is an important point in the 2020 elections that will have a major impact on city council candidates: the end of party coalitions for positions elected through proportional voting.

Coalitions are a grouping of parties, a strategy used by political parties to increase the chances of electing their candidates.

With this change, the candidates with the most votes from the party will be elected, as long as they reach at least 10% of the electoral quotient .
NOTE 1: This change is very important for those who want to become city councilors , as it radically changes in relation to past elections.

It is worth remembering that coalitions will no longer exist only for uae mobile database proportional candidacies, that is, city councilors, state and federal deputies. It will still be possible to form coalitions for major positions such as mayor, in the case of the next election.

NOTE 2: We contacted both the TRE (Regional Electoral Court) and the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to discuss deadlines and possible changes regarding the 2020 election, but those responsible stated that they still do not have a set date for the resolution of the next election. The recommendation is to follow the websites and social networks of the responsible bodies to stay up to date on possible changes.

How to run for election
In addition to having Brazilian nationality or being naturalized , to run for election, it is necessary to meet some basic requirements:

Full exercise of political rights
Political rights are a set of rights established so that voters can participate in the political life and administration of the state, whether through voting, or even exercising their right to contest an election.
To be eligible to run for office, the citizen must be registered with the electoral court.
