Two main problems
Since November 2012, Google’s algorithm changes have been hurting many online forums like ours. While our traffic hasn’t decreased, our growth has dropped to single-digit percentages. No matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t break our “plateau of pain” (I call it that because it was a painful ~5-year endeavor).
Pain plateau: No double-digit growth since late 2012.
2. Quality of user-generated content
Related to the first issue, 99% of our content is belarus number data -generated (UGC) which means the quality is mixed (please forgive me). Like most forum-based sites, some of our members create incredible pieces of content, but a meaningful percentage of our content is admittedly thin and/or low quality.
How can we efficiently deal with over 200,000 pieces of content and try to improve them without going bankrupt? ہم کیسے کر سکتے ہیں"clean up the craft"جب اس میں بہت کچھ تھا؟
Fighting back: Two solutions (and a statistical analysis to show how it worked)
1. "Merge and Clean" Project
Our goal was to consolidate weak “child” URLs into strong “master” URLs to leverage some of the valuable content that Google was ignoring and improve the user experience.
