The benefits of cloud computing are clear. However, migrating identity data and related applications from on-premises systems to the cloud can be challenging.

Cloud migration projects involve two key elements. The first is the migration of user identities and attributes from legacy on-premises systems to cloud identity management platforms. These two challenges are related because applications are tightly coupled with legacy identity systems. Often, all user identities and attributes are stored on-premises in directories and databases rather than in the cloud.
