Images of shoppers frozen in front of shop windows have long been a part of the cultural landscape: think of the lonely Audrey Hepburn in the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Photographs of children enthusiastically pressing their noses to the window panes are already strongly associated with the holidays. The temporary installation of protective barriers in front of shop windows is a reminder of these important shoppers.

26. International Space Station – for proving that space exploration is more important than world politics

The modules were built in different countries and assembled directly in orbit. It took more than 40 space flights to build the station, which has been continuously manned since 2000. The station flies in low Earth orbit at an average altitude of 400 km at a speed of approximately 28,000 km per hour, circling the Earth in 90 minutes.
27. Panama Canal Expansion Project – to increase
Unlike the construction project, which was completed in 1914 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the overhaul was managed by a project office (PO) created by the Panama Canal Authority, and about 90% of the workforce was Panamanian.
28. Global Polio Eradication Initiative — for eliminating the threat of a deadly disease
Since the GPEI was launched in 1988, a global network of 20 million volunteers has vaccinated more than 2.5 billion children. As a result, the organization has reduced the number of cases of the disease by 99.9%. Only two countries reported polio cases in 2018.
