GlobalLogic invests in training Ukrainian embedded engineers

GlobalLogic, whose engineering and design center is located in Ukraine, has opened a laboratory for training embedded specialists on the basis of the Faculty of Electronics of NTUU "KPI" . A variety of equipment and proprietary development of the Embedded Starter Kit from GlobalLogic will allow more effective training of specialists in the field of embedded code. It is assumed that this project will operate at the Kyiv university indefinitely.


Embedded systems are the basis of modern devices. A fitness bracelet, a Wi-Fi router, a mobile phone (not a smartphone), and netherlands number data even unmanned cars and spacecraft are embedded devices. The complexity of the solutions lies in the fact that embedded devices, as a rule, do not have their own operating system (or have a specific OS) and their software is closely integrated with the hardware of the device on which it runs.

Despite the high demand for embedded device development, there is an acute shortage of professionals in the market. The training course for such an engineer is quite expensive, requiring the purchase of special equipment worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Over the past 5 years, the number of embedded engineers in Ukraine has almost doubled, but their market share in 2019 is only 2.9% of the total number of technical specialists . This number does not meet market demand, while universities cannot train more specialists due to lack of material resources.
