Is it possible to come up with an interesting name for an online store yourself?

Post by subornaakter24 »

To sell a product or service via the Internet, it is not enough, as before, to publish an ad or place a catalog. There are more and more competitors, the demands and requests of buyers are growing, and marketing techniques are becoming more complex. That is why, when choosing a name for an online store, think not about the fact that you have always wanted to name your brainchild after your favorite doll in childhood, but about how to choose a name for an online store that would help in promoting and selling the product and would relate to it.

In essence, choosing a name for an online store is the same as choosing a name for an offline retail outlet. In both cases, you will have to advertise your business online. However, a occupant resident lists traditional store may not need to think about a unique name, since it is, for example, located in a busy place. In this situation, even the typical name “Meat Shop” or “At Home” will do just fine. This is unacceptable for an online store, since it is important for it to turn its name into a suitable domain.

An effective name for a retail outlet (both online and offline) should take into account several aspects at once:

target audience of the store;

distinctive characteristics of products and related services;

memorability and the ability to easily repeat the name (your customers should immediately remember the name so that they can, if not type it into the address bar of the browser, then at least Google it);

unique name;

the ability to immediately evoke appropriate associations in a person;

absence of prohibited language;

the ability to transcribe the name into a human-readable version for the site (try converting the word "puppy").

In other words, to choose a name wisely, you need to understand marketing at a certain level. When there is strong competition in the market, you can’t just take the name that first caught your eye.

In all likelihood, the first name you come across will already belong to someone. Today, choosing a name is no longer an easy and interesting job, which means a new beginning and a step into a new business. This is routine work, which involves collecting a large layer of information and its careful analysis. Not every future owner of an online store has the necessary professional training for this.
