Voice search is another new and popular feature of search engines. According to optimizers' forecasts, in 2020 this search mechanism will account for at least half of all queries, so sites that allow you to search for information by voice will take their deserved places at the top.

In addition, in 2019, Google developed and implemented the Rank Brain algorithm to select and process interesting, popular and specific queries. Yandex responded to this by creating the voice assistant Alice, which allowed the search engine to increase its share in the smartphone search segment.

The innovations do not end there. There are predictions that from the end of 2019, Google's priority will change from specific keywords to user needs: artificial intelligence technologies that recognize objects and people in photos will be used more widely, voice search will be implemented, and regional search will be strengthened.

Yandex's new search algorithm, Andromeda, does not search by keywords, but determines the meaning of a query in the context of the rest of the user's search history and selects the most relevant sites for it. That is, you can get an answer to a question without going to a site.

In parallel with Andromeda, the Yandex.Experts service was launched, allowing you to ask any question and get answers (from experts and ordinary users). Since 2019, Yandex has been providing sites in the search results with a mark indicating whether it is an official source of information or an intermediary.

Therefore, although the general development directions of Yandex and Google coincide, there remain significant differences in details. In order to advance in both search engines, constant additional efforts, analysis, and the search for compromise solutions are necessary.
