The "linking function" allows you to connect different notes with each other, so that you can build a real "knowledge network". It's a bit reminiscent of Wikipedia.
Obsidian allows you to create and import texts with Markdown formatting. This also makes it easier for you to exchange with other tools that have Markdown, such as Notion.

How much does obsidian cost?
Obsidian is free for private users and sole proprietors, but after the first employee, you have to pay $50 per year. There is also the cost of synchronization (if you need it), which is $8 per month. So Obsidian is about the same price as the Pro version of EverNote (for one user).
What do I like about Obsidian?
I think it's great that you can show connections via links and also display them visually.
What do I not like?
Immediately after installation, the user is asked to make a decision, which may be the first hurdle for those who are less technically gifted or brave. You are asked to create or open a "Vault" or to connect Obsidian with Obsidian Sync. The term "Vault" is probably unfamiliar to most people and always sounds a bit like a bat cave to me.
