On June 23, Twitter Vice President Colin Crowell met with Roskomnadzor head Alexander Zharov in Moscow. The meeting was organized after Zharov's deputy Maxim Ksenzov threatened to block Twitter.
The meeting was closed, but some of its results were still known. Crowell introduced Twitter's public policy coordinator for Europe, Sinead McSweeney, to the Roskomnadzor leadership. She will be responsible for the service's interaction with the Russian authorities. On behalf of Roskomnadzor, Maxim Ksenzov will handle contacts with Twitter.
Twitter does not intend to open an office in Russia.
