Instead, in a virtual meeting, you can ask everyone to contribute their ideas in the chat, and then the call leader can quickly scan the responses and give credit accordingly.
4. Let one person speak at a time
You should create a meeting culture that discourages talking over one another. When people are talked over, they can get frustrated, lose their train of thought, and become discouraged from speaking up.
Of course, it's easy to accidentally talk over someone else, but as the meeting leader, it's your job to prevent that from happening. It sounds simple, but if someone is already speaking and another person talks over them, ask the second person to pause until the first person is done.
