New Instagram algorithm prioritizes originality

Post by monira444 »

Instagram announced a major update to its algorithm on April 30, 2024, aimed at transforming the way content is distributed on the platform. This change, which has already started to take effect, is designed to reward original content creation and increase the visibility of smaller accounts, while reducing the advantage of profiles that frequently repost videos and photos from other users. In this article, we explore the main changes and discuss the reasons behind this update.

What is the new Instagram algorithm?
Instagram's new algorithm in 2024 is primarily aimed at rewarding original content and reducing the visibility of republished posts. The app will implement a duplicate content detection system that relies on audio and visual signals, indicating reposts with a credit badge to the original creator.

Main Changes
Rewarding original content: Instagram will now give more bosnia and herzegovina whatsapp data visibility to original content, rewarding creators who produce their own photos and videos.
Penalty for reposts: Accounts that frequently repost content from other users will be penalized by having their posts removed from recommendations in the main feed and the “Explore” tab. However, this content will still be visible on the account profile to its followers.
Duplicate content detection system: The platform will use audio and visual signals to identify duplicate content and replace reposts with original posts when possible.
New recommendation rules: The algorithm will update recommendations, removing duplicate content and promoting original posts. Republished content will only return to recommendations 30 days after the last repost.
Focus on original Reels: A new recommendation system for Reels will be implemented, focusing on content that performs well in early testing with small audiences.
Why did Instagram implement these changes?
Historically, creators with large followings and profiles that share reposted content have had an advantage in terms of reach on social media. These algorithm changes aim to create a more equal playing field for all users, promoting the creation of original content and benefiting smaller accounts that produce their own content.

The update also targets profiles known as “serial reposters,” who repost content from other profiles more than ten times in 30 days. The idea is to encourage originality and creativity on the platform, creating a fairer and more diverse environment for all users.
