The main difference lies in which part of the language you want to focus on and, above all, be examined on. Many institutions prefer Trinity because they ensure that the candidate masters oral skills, which are the main stumbling block for most Spaniards when it comes to expressing themselves in English, while others opt for Cambridge because it requires a good level in all four language skills.

Both certificates are included in the Common European Framework of Reference ( CEFR ) and both have their levels approved around this framework.
