SEmrush, the suite of tools for improving online visibility, has presented its new study “Search Engine Optimization Factors 2024”, in which it analyzes the most important SEO factors that influence the positions of Google search engine results pages (SERPs).
To do this, a sample of 16,298 English-language keywords was analysed , all of them with more than 100 monthly searches. For each keyword, search engine results pages were collected to analyse the top 20 positions and their performance based on a series of factors, reaching a total of 300,000 positions (excluding the positions in which Wikipedia and YouTube appeared).
These are the 20 most important factors for SEO positioning:
Text relevance.
Organic traffic of the URL.
Organic domain traffic.
Organic positions of the URL in the top 20.
Domain appearances in starred positions.
Domain Authority Scores.
Organic domain belize number data positions in the top 20.
Domain appearances in images.
URL appearances in starred positions.
Page Authority Scores.
Number of referring IPs (domain).
Reference domain number (domain).
Number of referring IP addresses (URL).
Number of referring domains (URLs).
Content quality score.
Number of backlinks (domain).
Number of backlinks (URL).
Domain appearances in featured snippets.
URL appearances in images.
Domain age.
The study has further divided the different factors according to their type : content, backlinks, URL and domain. Below, we analyze each of them.
