How to Build Your Own Interactive Calculator with Ion

1. Sign up. Go to the dashboard and then to your campaign.

2. Hit the “New Creative” button.

3. You can choose “Quick Starts,” “Copy a Creative,” or “Start from Scratch.” This guide explains how to create a calculator using Quick Starts.

4. Select “Premium Templates,” then select “Calculator.” After this, select the calculator template you want to use. Click on any template to see its features and amenities. You can also see a live preview.

5. Once you pick a calculator, add the label and description. Save it, wait for it to load, and then start customizing it. Be sure to check the small buttons on the top right-hand side as you make changes. These show how your new calculator will look on different devices.


6. To change the text, click on it and then click on the editing box. To delete text blocks, click on the block and click on the trash can icon. To add an element, select it from the menu on the right and drag it into your template.

7. To change an image, select it and click the “select an image” button on the top right-hand corner. Your new image should be the same size as the one you want to replace. You can edit your image and add alt text on the platform.

Programming the Calculator

2. Go to data collection. You’ll see a form view of data storage. Go to the New Data Field category and enter your calculator’s name. The name should have no spaces or special characters.

3. Go back to the creative engine and select the data field. A pop-up box will ask you to select the category and data field you want to add.


4. Select the “Calculate” button and edit the name. Afterward, select the accompanying action (i.e., if you want it to open on the current or new page).

5. On the right-hand side of the screen, you’ll see what users see when they click your call-to-action button. Click on this page to add a custom CTA.

7. To edit the text, click on it and then click “Repopulated Value.” Next, click on “Edit Text .”To delete text, select it and then click on the trash icon.

8. If you want to add a new question, go to the palette and choose the question you want to add. Next, drag and drop it into the form. Be sure to select the right data field for your new question.
