What to do if fraudsters have already taken out a loan

Post by monira444 »

All the fraudulent schemes that we have described can be divided into two groups:

without the participation of the victim (using a passport and passport data, by collusion with a bank employee);

with the participation of the victim (through a lost smartphone, hacking the phone and a code from an SMS).

The first group includes situations for which the financial institution is responsible. Its employees were not attentive enough, and the victim of the fraud did nothing. Therefore, you have a high chance of getting rid of the loan quickly.

In the second case, the bank does not bear actual responsibility: it is the client who behaved carelessly and violated security requirements. It will be more difficult to achieve a decision in your favor.

In both cases, the plan of action is as follows:

Contact the financial institution where the credit product czech republic mobile database was issued. You need to write a claim statement and request copies of documents confirming the issuance of the loan.

Find out where exactly the funds were sent. If they did not come in your name, ask the bank or MFI for written confirmation. If the fraudster received the funds in cash, a copy of the document on the issuance of money with the recipient's signature will serve as confirmation.

With all the collected documents, go to the police station and write a statement that you have become a victim of fraud. The police will give you a notification slip, which you will need to present to the financial institution.

If the creditor refuses to take your side, prepare documents to file a claim in court. Most likely, you will need the help of a lawyer.

How to protect yourself from scammers
Rule #1: If you lose your passport or smartphone, act quickly
Try not to carry your passport with you at all - that way you won't lose it. Take this document only where you might be asked to see it. And always check that you have it when you return home.

If you have lost your passport (especially if there is a suspicion of theft), immediately contact the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The sooner the document is declared invalid, the better. Even if the fraudster manages to take out a loan before the passport data is entered into the database, you can quickly prove your non-involvement in the loan by the date of the appeal to the police.

If you have lost your smartphone with installed bank applications, immediately block your cards and accounts. Banks should be warned that fraudsters may have access to applications. After that, contact your mobile operator and block your SIM card. In the future, you will be able to restore your old number or get a new one.
