Converting a personal blog into a separately branded portal blog

Post by Abdur12 »

I have been thinking for some time about opening the blog to external authors and turning it into an online marketing portal. It is not easy to make the transition because there are many risks.

“What do you want to tell us today?” some people will say when reading the title of this post. It is true that it is a bit confusing but honestly I have not thought of a better way to describe the following: making the transition from a blog related to a person (in my case “Carlos Bravo”) to a portal related to a brand (in my case “Marketingguerrilla.es”). I may be writing this post only for myself because it is not a very relevant topic for most of those who follow this blog. But anyway, I leave it here just in case…

This is a question I have been asking myself for a couple of months japan whatsapp number list now. When I started 4 years ago I would never have imagined taking this step. A personal blog is what it is: “personal” and therefore related to a person. I am lucky that in my case it is not a perfect union. Let me explain. Many people relate Marketingguerrilla.es with “Carlos Bravo” but not everyone. Luckily many do not know who the author behind the blog is and have the feeling that this is a marketing portal or something similar. The design has also now moved away from the blog style. Not everyone liked it but it is clear that if you ask 10 people you will get many different opinions. And that is good. Let's get to the point.

Disadvantages of unlinking a personal blog from the main author
“Are you crazy? Why do you want to risk that?” some people will be wondering after reading the first two paragraphs. Let’s see. I am aware that this theoretical step involves a great risk but also brings many advantages, but we will talk about that later.

The main challenge is to ensure that the existing community does not disappear after the change has been made. This can be very difficult because converting a personal blog into a multi-author portal can destroy the bond between readers and bloggers that has been built up over the years. “Why continue reading if the person I am interested in is no longer writing?”
