Hello, dear friend! Welcome to this new episode of Walk with Johan. It's a great pleasure to have you with me today for this new episode. Yes, we can say that it's a personal development episode because the title is "make every moment a quality moment or moments".
Before I get to the content and tell you what I think, share with you a number of ideas, I have a little favor to ask of you. Would you take a few seconds to go and rate the Français Authentique podcast on your app, whether it's on Apple , on Google , it doesn't really matter, or Spotify , if you listen to me on Spotify or elsewhere? It would be a great pleasure to see you give the podcast 5 stars to help people discover it. Thank you very much for that.
Today's topic, in fact, was inspired by a piece of content from the writer Ryan Holiday, an American writer that I talk about a lot, because he helped me discover Stoic philosophy, it's spain whatsapp number data one of his specialties. He's written other books, but he's written a lot of books on Stoic philosophy. And so I really like what he does, I really like his writings. And I came across one of his pieces of content, which changed my mindset a bit, really. And I'd like to talk to you about it because I'm sure it can help you.
It's quite funny because I discovered this content on the Instagram platform and it's funny because I had removed Instagram from my smartphone for a very long time, for many months. And I reinstalled it to follow our Français Authentique activities because for several months, Céline has taken back control of the Français Authentique social networks and she told me: "Johan, that's all well and good, but on Facebook , Instagram , you don't publish anything, you just inform people about the other content that you publish on YouTube , your other videos, your podcasts, but there's no real content for the people who follow you". So since then, we've been creating content every day. So I really invite you to follow Français Authentique on Facebook and on Instagram.
And through that, I reinstalled the app and I came across a mini-video by Ryan Holiday who goes back to a term that I used for a long time. I said for a long time: "I want to spend quality time with my family." And what I took away from that mini-video is that ultimately... at least, that's what he explains... there is no quality time and bad quality time. You can't separate the moments by saying: "This is bad quality time. This is good quality time."
He's right, actually, he's right. When you think about it in a completely logical and rational way, time is time. There's no value attached to time, there's no intrinsic value to time. You can't say, "Time, that one, those 5 minutes, is quality; the next 10 minutes will be non-quality." So when you think about that, you say, "He's right." And that has an implication, it has a big consequence, which is that it's essential to appreciate the mundane, to appreciate ordinary moments. Banal means ordinary. Every moment is ultimately a quality moment. So saying, "I want to spend quality time with my family," is ultimately nothing more than saying, "I want to spend time with my family."
Make every moment a quality moment
