My new reading challenge

Post by jrineakter »

Hello and thank you for joining me for this new episode of the Marchez avec Johan podcast. And today, we are going to talk together about a subject of personal development, we are going to talk about reading. So you know that it is a subject that… you know, if you have been following Français Authentique for a long time, that it is a subject that is particularly close to my heart and so we are going to, today, exchange a little on the subject.

Before that, if you haven't done it yet and you want to help Français Authentique, you can leave 5 stars for this episode or rather for this podcast on the application you use and you can share this episode with your friends on the networks.

So today we're going to talk about my reading challenge. I've been passionate about reading for a very, very long time. I'm lucky to love it. Some people don't like it or some people don't take great pleasure in reading.

As for me, I am lucky to love it, to take a lot of malaysia whatsapp number data pleasure in reading. And reading has always been a big key to my personal development. It has had enormous impacts on my family, on Authentic French, which are my two big priorities, because quite simply what I have been able to read and discover, well I have applied it to be a better husband, a better father and to be better in the context of Authentic French. So it is both a hobby and for me a great great necessity to read.

That's why this activity has been one of my priorities for a very long time. In fact, I've always read. I was lucky that my parents guided me towards reading when I was a child. So I was already reading a lot when I was a child and I redeveloped it. I stopped a little, and again, I never really stopped, but let's say that I slowed down reading a little when I was, I think, in high school and maybe also a little in university, but I really got back into it later. And since I created Français Authentique, I talk about it a lot.

I often quote what Mark Twain said, which is "he who does not read has no advantage over he who cannot read", very beautiful quote. And people make fun of me by saying: "Johan, you always say the same thing, you repeat the same quote to us all the time". But I find it so so powerful and so beautiful that I like to use it as a refrain, as a leitmotif.

And so for over 10 years, I have been reading according to periods between 30 minutes minimum to an hour per day, a little more during the holidays. And a few weeks ago, I decided to allocate even more time to it. Initially, it was 1 hour 30 per day, but I think I will push the challenge, the challenge, to 2 hours per day. And in fact, I started from a rather simple concept, since I love it. And since it is excellent for me in all areas, why not do more, quite simply.

When I said that to myself, my first reaction was to say to myself: "Well, I don't have time actually. I can't, I can't read more because I have a lot of work for Français Authentique, I spend a lot of time with my family." And so I ultimately have a lot of things to do, a lot of things that take up my time and I can't, I'm too busy.

And then I said to myself: "But wait, actually there is always time. We can always free up time." I keep telling the members of Français Authentique: "Use your downtime to learn French, for example, to learn French." I said to myself or asked myself: "How can I free up a little more time?"
