The app with the unusual name “Things” was developed in 2007 by the German startup Cultured Code as a Mac program and was one of the first apps to be published in the newly opened App Store for the iPhone in 2008.

Things stayed true to Apple and updated the popular productivity app with new versions for iPad and Apple Watch. Things won the prestigious Apple Design Award in 2009 and 2017 and the app is continuously being developed. The company's blog provides detailed information about new and planned features.

Things has been growing in popularity for over ten years and for good reason:

user reviews According to the app, the minimalist design fits perfectly into the Apple ecosystem and the app has just the right range of functions to fully implement the GTD method (for example with inbox, filing systems, to-do lists and calendar) without being distracted by unnecessary functions.
While OmniFocus impresses with its customizability and range of functions, Things impresses with its simplicity and minimalist design. However, Things also lacks collaboration options, so the tool is more suitable for individual tasks than for the whole team.

BEST FOR: Individual users looking for a simple, elegant GTD tool that fits well with Apple's clean, minimalist aesthetic.

If the last two apps sounded like the perfect solution for you, but you don't own an Apple device, Todoist might be just what you need. Todoist combines the best elements of OmniFocus and Things in a cross-platform package and even offers a browser version.

The app was developed in 2007 by Bosnian refugee Amir Salihefendic to organize his own projects. Today, Todoist has five million users.

What's special about Todoist? There's a free version, collaboration features (which OmniFocus and Things lack), and additional motivation through gamification: Karma points reward you for completing tasks.

Last but not least, Todoist offers all the necessary functions to manage tasks denmark telegram data elegantly and easily according to the GTD method. The greatest strength of the tool is perhaps that it can be used on any device with a browser. In addition, Todoist, including all help pages, is available in German.

BEST FOR: Project managers who don't have a particular brand preference and want a convenient, cost-effective tool to get things done.

Price: Todoist is available for free. For larger teams, there are Premium and Business versions (€3 and €5 per user per month, respectively), which can be used for more people and projects and offer various additional features such as reminders, labels, comments and file uploads or premium support.

We hope that you have found one of the tools presented that will help you bring more order to your daily tasks with a well-thought-out system. Everyone uses different self-management methods and it can take a while to find out what suits your way of working best.
