Design and build quality

Post by Rina7RS »

I was actually surprised to see that Zyxel released a fairly compact WiFi 7 AP, but then again, the WBE660S had to test the waters and be a larger AP, which allowed them to come up with a smaller case for the NWA130BE. At least, that’s what I’m assuming. And yes, the case is made of plastic, and one user pointed out to me that it’s a material with better conductivity than the standard plastic used in the industry.

I have no idea if the ECW536 and U7 Pro use the same canada telegram data type of material. It’s slightly larger than the U7 Pro but significantly smaller than the EnGenius ECW536 and is only meant to be mounted on the ceiling or wall, so it doesn’t have feet to keep it stable on a table. As for the LED, there’s a thin transparent section at the top that lets the light shine through, and it uses different colors to let you know what’s going on with the unit.

It’s far from intuitive, but as usual, green means “good,” red means “bad.” Sort of, because there’s also amber, white, blue, and so on. You’ll need to check the manual to know what’s going on. Flipping the AP over again, we see the ports section, which has a 12VDC power jack and two 2.5GbE ports, but only one of the Uplinks supports PoE+ and the other doesn’t.
