Today… let’s get to the content of the day… I wanted to share with you a little anecdote, a little vacation story, a story that happened to me this summer and that I haven’t told you about yet and that made me think, that reminded me that you should never rest on your laurels. Resting on your laurels means resting on things you have already acquired.
For example, someone who has worked a lot in French, who is starting to have a good level, if we say "he is resting on his laurels", well that means he is stopping working. He thinks that all the work he has done before is enough, that he no longer needs to work. We simply take things for granted.
And in fact, what happened this summer is that I was in a park with Céline and my three children. And in this park, there is a fitness trail. A fitness trail is simply… it happens in small parks or in forests… a trail in which there are a certain number of small workshops. So, we will tell you: “Here, you run slowly for 500 meters. After, you will have a bar and you will do pull-ups on this bar. After, you will do abs”. So, it is several workshops, several breaks during which you do physical exercises.
And there was, in this fitness trail, an abdominal board that is inclined. So, the abdominals, you know, are the muscles that are at the bottom of the stomach, that men like to try to work so that we can see them, so that we can see the six abs. I think it's six. Yes, six. There are six pack abs. I think it's six. Well, we don't always see them anymore, but almost. But in any case, there was this station. And "inclined" means it's not straight. The abdominals, you can do them in a straight way, so, on a board that is parallel to the ground, or it can be inclined, that is to say that there is gravity which makes things more difficult.
And me, well I am where I was… 'well, you'll understand… I considered myself to be in top shape, really, in very good physical shape. I am in good physical shape, eh. I feel very well that I am in shape, I don't get out of breath quickly, I can do a lot of things, I have good strength, a good level of physical strength, without being someone extremely muscular, but I have a satisfactory physical shape, because I worked on it a lot, I do a lot of exercises.
