As we look to the future

So network monitoring – and monitoring in general – I believe that the contributions of the open source community, developments in automation, security, and real-time monitoring will all combine to make it more reliable and effective than ever before. We can expect to hear a lot more about these technologies and how they will transform network monitoring in the coming years.
Five IT Networking Trends to Watch in 2023
29.12.2022
Addressing increasingly serious IT security threats and automating manual network tasks will be the focus of enterprise networking professionals in 2023, writes Terry Slattery, chief architect at advanced networking consulting firm NetCraftsmen, on No Jitter.

Beyond the obvious IT security issues and the rise of AI and machine learning, it's also important to look at how enterprise networks have changed in 2022 and what might be in store for them in 2023. Below, we'll look at several areas of networking technology and related trends to see what to focus on in the new year.

1. IT security
Malware, data theft, ransomware and similar georgia mobile database topics have received significant coverage in the past year. This trend will continue and I would not be surprised to see new threats and continued exploitation of old threats. The good news is that the press coverage has increased awareness of the need for good IT security and made it a key component of IT systems.

If you haven’t already, I recommend implementing multi-factor authentication in all your business applications, whether they’re internal or cloud-based. The best solution is to use an authentication app like Okta or Microsoft Authenticato instead of sending a code via SMS, which have their own vulnerabilities.

We will also see further adoption of secure access services at the edge (SASE). The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) has done a good job of standardizing, and the adoption of MEF-117 will help address one of the challenges that has prevented widespread adoption of this technology. Interoperability of products in this area will help ensure the safety of a workforce that remains more mobile than before the pandemic.
