Why the world doesn't need interactive emails with AMP for Email

That's why we don't see interactive emails via AMP as a trend at the moment. Here's a statement from our board member Martin Aschoff:

“In contrast to web browsers, even the most modern email programs only support a subset of the current HTML5 standard. This does not stop Google from promoting a new approach called “AMP for Email,” which is intended to be an alternative to emails in HTML format.

Personally, I hope that AMP for email is a stillborn uruguay number dataset idea. AMP for email is a proprietary extension from Google to make emails interactive. This means that the email recipient can interact with the sender's offer within the email to a limited extent. This saves the recipient having to click to access the sender's website.

But the savings of this one click come at an extremely high price: the email recipient is exposed to new security and data protection risks because code is executed in their email program over which they have no control. You don't even have to open an email attachment.

And the sender of AMP emails must first register with each email provider to which they want to send emails in this format and go through an approval process. The email providers want to use this to reduce the security and data protection risks mentioned above for the recipients. At the moment, however, the registration effort is manageable, because even two years after the introduction of AMP for email, it is only productively supported by Google's own Gmail and mail.ru.

But it's not just the organizational effort that's significant for the sender of AMP emails, but also the technical effort. AMP for email is a completely new type of email after text emails and HTML emails, which must be handled and implemented separately. In this context, the sender must also adhere to numerous technical rules and limitations specified by Google. And all of this to save the recipients a click.

Finally, the question arises: Which email recipient wants emails whose visible content can change while they are reading them (advertising jargon: “they don’t go out of date”)? And how can such emails be archived in a legally compliant manner?

It seems to me that AMP for email is an attempt by Google to expand its influence over the email medium. Instead of putting its energy into technical concepts that nobody needs, Google should make sure that Gmail finally follows the existing HTML standard better. After Microsoft Outlook, Gmail is the email provider that supports HTML the worst. This repeatedly leads to display problems in emails and makes designing professional HTML emails a nightmare for designers. And this company, which is already failing with the status quo, wants to delight the Internet with what it sees as a more modern email experience?"
