This month, a paper and a website were published by Vincent Etter, a Swiss student, who claims to be able to predict with more than 76% accuracy whether a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.com will be successful or not. That sounds promising, but how useful is it? And who wants this information?

Sidekick
Vincent Etter's website is sidekick . It shows all active Kickstarter campaigns portugal mobile phone number list whether they will be successful or not. These predictions are based on three components: the revenue in the first four hours, the number of (re)tweets and the profile of the backers (people who support the campaign with money). The first two are clear. The higher the revenue in the first four hours and the more (re)tweets, the greater the chance of success. The last one is a lot more vague, but no less worthwhile. It concerns the involvement of seasoned backers and the number of backers who participate for the first time. See also the paper ' Launch Hard or Go Home! Predicting the Success of Kickstarter Campaigns '.
