On the other hand, the Facebook Papers have also revealed the collapse of Facebook's engagement metrics : young people, a key target market for advertisers, are spending less and less time on Facebook every day, while the number of users is artificially inflated in these age groups with fake accounts.
Haugen claims Facebook has “ misrepresented basic metrics to investors and advertisers” and that duplicate accounts are leading to “widespread fraud” against advertisers.
So far, Facebook has only commented that the information algeria business email database collected in the Facebook Papers has been "misinterpreted" and, regarding the fake accounts, it assures that it has already notified advertisers about the risk of their campaigns reaching duplicate accounts.
Not all of the material contained in the Facebook Papers has been revealed yet, so more controversial leaks for the major social network are expected in the coming days. Meanwhile, comments are piling up, a sense of insecurity is permeating around the future of the major social network, while more employees are resigning and the US Congress and other countries continue to determine what legal actions they should take following this leak, and there will be much more work to do.
