What is the Uniformat classifier used for in the world?
Conclusions
Russian developers: SIGNAL (sgnl.pro), Tangl (tangl.cloud) and IYNO (iyno.ru) translated the phone number in vietnam Uniformat II classifier of 2015 (ASTM E1557) and made it publicly available.

We also wrote an article about how to use it and held a webinar with examples of its use on February 1, 2024 at 11:00 Moscow time.

Uniformat II 2015
It is no secret that today there is no practice of using uniform commercial classifiers on the market. Each developer develops something of his own.

However, our practice and customer requests indicate that the basic needs and goals for systematizing elements in projects, calculating volumes, accounting for construction work, calculating financial models, etc. are essentially the same.

As a result, many developers, consciously or unconsciously, use very similar or even identical classifiers, which may differ only slightly.

From here we had an initiative to take as a basis a clear, well-known, simple and popular classifier all over the world and translate it for use in our realities. Which is what we did as a first step.

We suggest using this classifier to fill in the parameter of the standard size Code by classifier, if the company does not have its own classifier or the Customer has not specified its own in the requirements.

We also recommend that Customer companies that order BIM from their designers, but do not have their own internal classifier of elements, include the following item in the Customer's Information Requirements or technical specifications for design:

“All elements of the BIM model displayed in the 3D view or taken into account when drawing up statements, specifications, estimates, must be classified according to the UNIFORMAT 2015 RU classifier, which can be downloaded from the links https://sgnl.pro/uniformat and https://help.tangl.cloud/uniformat/

What is Uniformat?
Uniformat is a classification system for building elements, systems and assemblies for buildings and structures. A hierarchical structure of elements structured by functional feature.

Uniformat II 2015
The classifier entities are assemblies of building elements, for example: Foundation slab, Load-bearing floor structures, Ventilation networks, Heating equipment.

It is assumed that such logical structuring of information about an object can allow to connect disparate data, describe them sequentially, and allow to find the necessary information from related departments faster.

For example, it allows you to search for all acts, contractors and issued comments for the assembly code you are interested in, or view the elements of the BIM model and their volume.

The Uniformat classifier is a top-level one that sets the general structure of data on the project and assumes that each company can expand it to suit its needs, for example, if a group is missing, then add your own. This is achieved by leaving digits between positions 10 and 20, for example.
