Dynamic call tracking users want all site visitors to see unique numbers. But what if traffic has increased dramatically? For example, you are launching a profitable promotion or a new product and expect an increase in demand: more numbers are needed immediately. But how many should be allocated so as not to overpay? Let's look at the solutions available on the market, look at customer statistics and separate truth from fiction.
As a rule, the traffic to the site is stable, you have Taiwan WhatsApp number calculated and bought the required number of numbers, and these numbers are enough for display. Call tracking links each call with the user's session on the site, and you understand which advertisement the calling client came from.
However, the situation changes during peak loads, when a lot of visitors come to the site in a short period of time, for example, more than 20% of daily traffic per hour.
For example, a company delivers food. On average, 200 visitors a day visit the site. After a successful launch of a set lunch ad, 80 people visit the site at noon at the same time. This is the peak traffic.
In such a situation, many unique numbers will be needed to display, and then the purchased numbers may not be enough. What will this lead to? At a minimum, we will not know the advertising campaign, ad, and keyword that led to the call. And in the worst case, the source of the call will be incorrectly identified.
To understand how many numbers might be needed for traffic peaks, let's look at the statistics from our study.

How the number of numbers changes during traffic peaks
We analyzed the traffic of Call Tracking clients' websites . The peculiarity of this solution is that when traffic peaks, additional dynamic CT numbers are issued automatically. We will tell you more about this later, but for now let's look at the statistics.
The graph below shows how traffic is distributed on average throughout the day. Here we present data for the entire sample of sites:
Distribution of daily traffic by hours. Average indicators for clients of "Simple call tracking"
As you can see, from 9am to midnight the traffic flow is fairly even. But let's take a closer look at what's going on with individual companies.
Here, for example, is a client's website that periodically experiences traffic spikes. During peak hours, the site can receive more than 20% of daily traffic. It is important to note that a significant portion of it is made up of transitions from paid sources: they account for 88% of the peak load.
Example of traffic distribution on a peak day: the surge occurs at 12:00
The traffic peak may occur at different times, for example, due to the settings of contextual advertising with time-based display.
How many dynamic numbers are required for sites with traffic peaks
We analyzed how many numbers the call tracking algorithm allocates for sites with uniform load and sites that have peaks in traffic.
According to our data:
if clients do not have peaks in traffic, for 100-300 visitors per day it is enough to allocate from 12 to 47 dynamic numbers,
with a traffic of 300-500 users per day, 16 to 49 numbers are required,
with traffic of 500–700 users – from 22 to 51 numbers.
But the situation is different for sites with traffic peaks. Visitor spikes require 1.5–4 times more numbers than with the same amount of traffic, but with an even distribution. For example, a client with a daily visit of 100–300 users needs from 17 to 85 unique numbers.
