What is marketing?
Marketing is a complex process and explaining the meaning of this term in a univocal way is not simple. For this reason we rely on the definition of the father of modern marketing , Philip Kotler:
“Marketing is the science and czech republic phone numbers art of exploring, creating, and delivering value to satisfy the needs of a target market, generating profit. Marketing identifies unsatisfied needs and wants, defines, measures, and quantifies market size and profit potential. It identifies segments that the company can best serve, and designs and promotes appropriate products and services.”
So we can say that marketing action satisfies human and social needs and consequently we can define it as a process that is based on the relationship between producer and consumer, between company and customer and that contains within it a series of activities. The latter have only one purpose: to satisfy the desired needs .
But let's go deeper, these below are all the ways we can define marketing:
An organizational function : marketing has a central role within the company. Fundamental to operate successfully and satisfy customer needs through pricing, distribution, communication and marketing policies;
A set of processes : that is, a set of strategies and techniques that work together to achieve set objectives.
