Usually, providers try to offer their clients different hosting options. The most common types are:

Shared Hosting – shared hosting.

Virtual Private Server – private virtual hosting (VPS).

Cloud Hosting – so-called cloud hosting.

Dedicated hosting.

A large site requires more space on the marketing list of plumbers server. A novice owner of an Internet platform can first use the simplest tariff plan of a shared hosting provider, and change its type (or tariff) as the site grows. Providers themselves try to offer at least a couple of different tariff plans in each of the options.

Shared Hosting
This is the most common type, it is also called "virtual", and it is most suitable for not very large projects or blogs. And if web hosting is mentioned in a conversation, then most often it is about the general type.

The point is that many clients use such a resource at the same time. That is, different sites store their own data on one server and use their share of the provided computing power, disk space, memory capacity, etc.

Pros:

low price;

simple control panel;

ready-made server settings;

easy to use even for beginners, without any special technical training;

good support service to help with administration and maintenance.

Cons :

quite a narrow range of server settings (configurations);

The speed of your site may be affected (or, more precisely, reduced) by a large flow of traffic on other web sites.

Virtual private hosting (VPS)
The point here is that other users are also present on the server with you, but you have your own section, which is provided by the provider.

That is, space, memory, and power are reserved especially for you. This option is well suited for rapidly developing web sites owned by mid-level businessmen.

Pros:

there is a personally provided server at no additional cost;

the system easily copes with increased load (scalability);

your site will not slow down if traffic on other resources increases;

there is a wide range of settings;

Root access is available.

Cons:

higher price compared to the previous option;

To use it you need to be quite technically savvy in this area.

Cloud Hosting
It differs from others by its almost uninterrupted operation, therefore it has proven itself as the most reliable option of all currently existing ones. The point is that you have at your disposal a whole cluster of servers, each of which has copies of all your stored data. It may happen that one of the cloud servers is not working correctly or is busy, then your traffic begins to circulate through another server in the cluster, switching to it automatically.

Positive points:

there are practically no downtimes or they are very short;

payment is charged only for the resources actually used;

the operation of your web site is not disrupted in any way by possible server failures;

scalability is higher compared to VPS;

Resources are allocated as needed.

Negative aspects:

it is problematic to calculate the price in advance;

Root access is not always available.

WordPress
In essence, this is one of the types of shared hosting. At the same time, the server allocated to you already has settings in advance that are optimal for working with the WordPress CMS, and there are already the necessary important plugins, for example, for caching and security.

WordPress ensures that your web platform loads quickly and almost always works correctly, because it has a highly optimized configuration. It is very convenient that WordPress tariff plans, as a rule, have a fairly wide range of additional functions. This can be a set of themes, easy-to-use designers (with the ability to simply drag and drop elements), and other developer tools.
