The characteristics of interchangeable goods have economic and legal significance. According to the law, products are substitutes if their main characteristics (quality, parameters, functions, configuration, etc.) are analogous on the same market.

The legal aspects of interchangeability greatly affect competition and consumer protection. If a product can easily replace another, then they are in fierce competition, so the buyer can easily choose between them.

The manufacturer must monitor the indonesian numbers quality characteristics of the product, its price, and terms of sale. Consumer rights in this case are protected by laws that specify warranty conditions, product labeling, etc.

Regulation of interchangeable goods

Regulation of the interchangeability of goods is carried out at fairly high levels (national and international), all parameters are fixed and prescribed in legislative and regulatory acts.

This issue was approached quite structurally: a whole program was formed, ensuring the standardization of the approach to product evaluation. Such regulation ensures the protection of consumer rights, adequately supports competition; the quality of goods does not suffer, and in some places even improves.

Analysis of Substitutable Goods
Let's analyze the interchangeability of goods in the food segment, on chicken eggs. There are a huge number of them on the counter. The goods, by and large, do not differ from each other in any way: the products have similar taste characteristics, and are different in the color of the shell and size. Almost all buyers will choose a cheaper product, because it is profitable. Thus, chicken eggs can be considered absolutely interchangeable goods.

But if you look at the packaging, you can see that each product has its own story, a legend. Some say that the eggs are obtained from domestic chickens, others say that they added iodine to the birds' diet. Some say that the product is of the table/dietary category, etc. Chicken eggs are a complete substitute for foreign products, because they can easily replace the domestic product.

Often people carefully study the packaging and believe everything that is written on it, so they easily find an explanation for the high price. At the same time, the buyer is not confused by anything. It follows from this: it is not difficult to sell ordinary eggs at an inflated price, it is enough to simply convince consumers that the product is special, the best in the presented segment.

If the arguments are not convincing, the buyer will not pay attention to the product. He will immediately switch to a cheaper analogue, because he has no reason to overpay for a similar product.

It is also worth considering the fact that eggs are a product that we consume every day, so even a price increase will not convince the buyer to give them up completely: there is basically nothing to replace them with. We use them to prepare many dishes, simple and complex.

But if the price goes up or stays high, consumers will still be able to find a substitute for this product. People will buy another brand or stop cooking with eggs altogether.
