We've been seeing for quite some time that Google is changing things up when it comes to how it reads content and decides what's relevant for the SERPs .

Well, it’s no surprise that this is happening. When surveys indicate that users are not satisfied with Google’s results and new generations are looking to TikTok instead of Google to search for things, it probably means that SERPs need to improve.

Some important changes have been announced, such as:

Google's September 2022 Core Algorithm Update
updating useful content , and some other small ones, which, although they do not change the rules of the game, have a great impact on our SEO strategies.
The latest change is about Link Building and how the strategy benin phone number list has been losing relevance. This is stated by John Muller, Google Search Advocate , when answering a question in an interview about the weight of links in an SEO strategy.

With so many changes in our SEO strategy, is it possible that link building is dying? Let's delve deeper into Google's claim on the matter.

To understand what's going on, let's look at Mueller's full quotes from the interview:

“ Well, the weight of links is something we’ve been imagining for a while. At some point, it will diminish a bit, as we can better understand the role of content in the context of the entire web. We know that, to some extent, links will always be relevant because we have to find pages somehow. After all, how do you find a page on the web without some reference to it?”

“I think that over time, it will not be as important a factor as it sometimes is today . It is even something that is changing quite a bit .”

Since Google has a better understanding of how content fits into the context of the entire web, links may not be as necessary. On the other hand, they are still a ranking factor, and the following quote reinforces this idea: “ links will always be something we care about because we have to find the pages somehow .”
