“It is undeniable that in recent decades there have been advances in the design of smart clothing and homes, autonomous cars, bitcoins, parallel universes through immersive technologies… However, we are still struggling to find a solution to major global challenges such as the climate emergency, health crises or social inequalities,” says the CEO of IED Spain.
For Marchesi: “ We are in a complex but at the same time stimulating period. As an academic institution we have the responsibility and the opportunity to experiment with new formats, techniques, tools and strategies to try to offer students the best possible learning.”
In this sense, the future vision is that of IED Barcelona as a major reference point in the city for all companies seeking a hub where they can find talent and knowledge; where they can discover innovative trends and ideas in a multidisciplinary and multicultural context.
Likewise, its commitment within the spain phone data framework of IED Spain is to continue contributing to training new generations of designers capable of anticipating needs; of conceiving and developing solutions that contribute to social well-being in uncertain scenarios; of experimenting and taking risks as fundamental steps to innovate; of using technology, but without forgetting emotion.
On the 20th anniversary of IED Barcelona, its commitment is to continue the work of these years and, at the same time, consolidate its position as an interpreter of business and society, through the new academic programs that are being launched on highly relevant topics: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Health, Metaverse and Extended Reality, Green Transition or Digital Transformation.
It is no coincidence that the IED has been chosen among the few institutions that form part of the NEB, the New European Bauhaus, the movement that places design as a fundamental tool for reconstructing a new common project.
