The huge success of the Chinese app TikTok made the competition want to ride the wave of the short video phenomenon. That's when, in June 2020, the giant Instagram launched a new feature: Reels.
This video creation tool is very similar to TikTok since the concept is to create short sequences and edit them with effects and music.
Very popular among young people, Reels now occupy a place of their own brazil phone number list on Instagram, just like stories. Let’s decipher how they work together.
All about Reels
In English, Reels means "tapes" or "reels". A rather appropriate name since the concept is to create multi-clip videos of 15 to 30 seconds with sound and different effects. On Reel, you can find all types of content: artistic, humorous, political, or anything that allows people to express themselves.
Reels can be shared to your followers' feed or to the entire Instagram community if your profile is set to "public" mode. All Reels from around the world are categorized in the associated tab in the center of the application's taskbar.
Whether your account is public or private, you can share your Reel to your story, to your close friends, or in a direct message. In this case, your Reel will work like a regular story: it won’t be shared to the Reels section of Explore, it won’t appear on your profile, and it will disappear after 24 hours.
