Salesforce – the world leader in the SaaS CRM market – announced this week the acquisition of Mulesoft – a leading API connectivity platform – for a whopping $6.5 billion. The denmark mobile database has already been unanimously approved by the board members of both companies, and now it is only a matter of time before the deal is made official.
MuleSoft says it will continue to invest in the company’s vision for an application network with Anypoint Platform , and will power its new “ Salesforce Integration Cloud .” This will enable all companies to expose any data, regardless of where it resides, to power deep, intelligent customer experiences across a personalized 1:1 journey.
Together, the companies will further accelerate the digital transformation of their customers.
Salesforce CEO is very optimistic about the acquisition:
“Every digital transformation begins and ends with the customer,” Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said in a statement. “Together, Salesforce and MuleSoft will enable customers to connect all information across the enterprise across all public and private clouds and data sources, radically enhancing innovation.”
