First BIM attempt: information model turned out to be non-working
We began to analyze how to effectively apply information models in practice during the work on the complex of buildings of the children's infectious diseases hospital with 300 beds - a socially significant facility for the region.

In 2019, stage P of the complete set of design documentation for a children's hospital phone number in turkey was developed in Autocad by another design organization. The documentation received a positive expert opinion. In 2021, we decided to raise a 3D model in Renga and undergo the expert review again. The main building turned out to be quite large (building area - 8435 m2 , total area - 33565 m2 ) and non-trivial: structural elements were mixed, layouts did not match. We began to try ourselves in information modeling, realizing that the first immersion in the process would be by trial and error.
It was decided to deploy the Pilot-BIM common data environment at the customer's base. In the raised 3D model, using the automatic check of the Pilot-BIM collision log, a large number of errors and shortcomings in the design documentation were found. And even after prompt manual edits, collisions still occurred. Moreover, they were obvious even to an uninformed person: for example, columns on evacuation routes and doors opening into walls.

We wanted to use the Pilot-BIM system to the maximum and communicate with the customer about the project only in it. But in our case it did not work, as the customer was more comfortable conducting the dialogue the old-fashioned way by phone. As a result, communication did not work out, and the first pilot project failed.
But we gained valuable experience by seeing that the information model turned out to be inoperative, since it was not assessed from the point of view of applicability. At the same time, it was predictable that, despite the positive expert opinion for 2D design documentation and the construction permit for the facility, problems would arise at the implementation stage. But the employees tried to implement the entire project in the BIM system and see how it works in practice.
Second BIM Attempt: What is the Cost of Mistakes in 2D Design?
The second project, which we entered with BIM technologies, was related to the creation of information models of three feldsher-midwife stations (FMS). As in the first case, the 2D design documentation was developed by another organization. The customer put forward a requirement to prepare a 3D model based on it, which was not provided for in the technical specifications. As usual, in a short time frame - in two weeks.
Raising the model according to the design documentation, in addition to numerous collisions, we found a design error made when calculating the metal frame. If we take 40 million rubles as the conditional cost of implementing the construction of one FAP, then the designer's omission in 2D design cost 20 million rubles. As a result, due to the lack of additional funding, the customer refused both the prepared 3D model and the implementation of a single contract as a whole. But we gained a second important experience.
Third BIM attempt: 1000 square meter discrepancy
We chose the next project on our own initiative — the creation of a digital twin of the Omsk Gymnasium building built in 1955. The contract for major repairs (in fact, reconstruction) was concluded in a single format, that is, with the simultaneous execution of a set of engineering surveys, measurement and inspection works, as well as the development of a full set of design documentation in accordance with Government Resolution 87, a phased examination and the execution of construction and installation works.
